Sladen sits in the midst of the Peak District National Park. It nestles in the Hope Valley amongst gently rolling hills and dramatic gritstone edges. Hathersage village is a few minutes walk away from the house. It is a walker’s paradise and a sightseeing haven which is located in a truly beautiful part of England.

THE VILLAGE

Hathersage is a traditional, pretty and unspoilt village with a range of small shops, pubs and restaurants. Food, dining out and a pint of beer are all closeby! There are tennis courts, a childrens playpark and a 30m heated outdoor pool which is open from April to October. There is a good range of convenience stores for those last minute provisions.

CHOICE OF WALKS FOR ALL ABILITIES

Hathersage really is the perfect base for a walking holiday. You don’t need to drive anywhere – you could spend days walking from Sladen and never take the same footpath. Alternatively, you could take the bus or train and return to Sladen on foot. We can help you plan your route - please contact us and we can supply information according to your requirements.

ATTRACTIONS NEARBY

You may wish to visit one of the many historic or interesting attractions nearby. Award winning Chatsworth House and Bakewell, famous for its puddings are both 15 minutes away. 

The famous castle and caverns in Castleton are a bus ride away.

Manchester is an hour away by train – a pleasant journey which cuts through the Pennines and provides spectacular views.
